WHAT IS MEDICARE PART B?

Think of Medicare Part B as your "medical" insurance. Part B covers the following:

  • Doctor's visits
  • Services from other health care providers
  • Outpatient care
  • Part B drugs-includes drugs administered in an outpatient setting such as chemotherapy or other infusions like Remicade
  • SOME home health care
  • Durable Medical Equipment
  • Preventative services

The list of preventative services is rather extensive and includes, but is not limited, to the following:

  • Annual Wellness visit
  • Breast cancer screenings
  • Prostate cancer screenings
  • Cardiovascular screenings
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Flu shots

Many other preventative services are covered. You can find out more in the CMS publication "Your Guide to Medicare's Preventative Services". You can access a copy of this guide on our website under the resources tab. Or you can call or email us and we will be happy to provide you with a copy.
